Handbuilding Mon 6pm - 7 weeks

Service Description

A beginner - intermediate level handbuilt pottery. Our teachers work with your skill level to assist you to make handbuilt vessels. (This session does not use a pottery wheel for instruction) Please note: This course is 6 consecutive weeks only. (2.5 hours a week x 6 ) Your 7th lesson is a glazing lesson (3 hours) which will take place two weeks after your 6th lesson. This glaze lesson is at the same time as your weekly session. The last 15 minutes of every lesson is allocated to the pack up process of ceramics. Includes: * tuition in handbuilding techniques by experienced teacher - slab building, pinch pots and coil pots to make handbuilt organic shaped vases, plates, mugs, and other vessels * clay * use of studio tools and equipment * bisque and glaze firing of up to 15 items each Our studio philosophy is one of mindful making. It's an opportunity for you to slow down, take time out of your busy schedule and concentrate on the tactile nature of clay. We encourage you to focus on the process more than the product. As such, we ask you to let go of some of your vessels to be recycled to be someone else's joy. We will fire up to a total of 15 items for you to keep. Please bring your own apron and wear covered shoes in the studio.
